Olympique Lyon pulled off an important away victory against Fenerbahce on Tuesday with three second-half goals in their Champions League Group D match.

Juninho Pernambucano put the French side ahead after 55 minutes when he fired in a strong shot from the edge of the area which rebounded off the crossbar and into the goal.

Brazilian defender Cris extended Lyon's lead from a corner on 66 minutes when he sent a free header past Turkish international goalkeeper Rustu Recber.

Fenerbahce hit back almost immediately to keep themselves in the game when Marcio Nobre turned in a cross from Tuncay Sanli.

But Lyon sealed the win in the dying minutes when substitute Pierre-Alain Frau guided the ball past Rustu off a pass from Sylvain Wiltord.

The French side top the group, two points clear of Manchester United who drew 0-0 at Sparta Prague.
